Zero ticketing fees on Memberly. Attendees pay the ticket price, producers keep more money in house.

The Fee Nobody Asked For

Pull up any concert or event checkout page and watch what happens between "select tickets" and "confirm purchase." A $40 ticket becomes $52. A $75 ticket clears $100. The number you clicked on is rarely the number you pay, and by the time the real total shows up, you've already committed enough time and emotional energy to the purchase that you finish it anyway.

That pattern has a name now. Regulators call it drip pricing, and as of May 2025, the FTC's Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees requires ticketing platforms to show the full price, including all mandatory fees, upfront instead of adding them at checkout. The rule exists because the industry didn't fix this on its own. In September 2025, the FTC and seven state attorneys general sued Live Nation and Ticketmaster over exactly this kind of drip pricing. In April 2026, the FTC settled with StubHub for $10 million in customer restitution over similar fee practices.

An entire industry got caught overcharging the people who show up to its events.

Attendees Feel It Every Time

Every producer has heard the complaint. It shows up in the DMs the day after an event, in the comments under the announcement post, in the group chat where someone screenshots their receipt with a "why is this $18 more than the ticket said" caption.

Attendees understand that service fees exist. What frustrates them is the fee showing up after they've already made the emotional decision to attend, once they're deep enough into checkout that backing out feels like more trouble than paying it.

The producer absorbs the reputational cost of a fee they never set, charged by a platform they didn't choose on the attendee's behalf. Independent producers do the actual work: booking the talent, securing the venue, building the audience. The platform sitting between them and their attendees collects a fee on every ticket while the producer's name takes the complaint.

So We Removed Them

Memberly Passes carry zero platform fees. Attendees pay the ticket price you set, full stop. No service fee, no order fee, no processing markup stacked on top of Stripe's actual cost.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • What attendees pay: the ticket price you list, with no added platform charges at checkout
  • What producers keep: the full ticket price, minus only the standard payment processing cost, passed through at cost

The total an attendee sees when they click "buy" matches the total they pay.

Why This Matters More Than It Sounds

Removing ticketing fees changes how attendees trust the price tag, and trust is the currency independent producers are actually building with every event they run.

When an attendee buys a Pass and the total matches the price they saw, they associate that experience with the producer who put it on. Consumers regularly report a ticket advertised around $75 ending up well over $100 once fees are added. Every dollar of that gap chips away at the producer's brand and lands in a platform's margin instead. Zero platform fees keeps that trust with the person who earned it.

Part of a Bigger Shift

Zero ticketing fees is the first thing attendees notice about Memberly. Underneath it, Memberly is built around a simple idea: producers shouldn't have to start every event from zero revenue and zero certainty. Passes remove the fee tax on individual tickets. Membership tiers on top of that give producers recurring revenue that shows up before the event is even announced.

Producers running consistent events at real scale often lose thousands of dollars a year to platform fees that don't build anything for their business. That money could go toward better production, better talent, a bigger venue, or straight into the producer's pocket. Zero fees on Passes keeps it exactly where it was earned.

What This Means If You're Producing Events

If you're currently ticketing through a platform charging 6 to 10% per ticket, run the math on your last twelve months of events. That number is what zero fees would have put back into your business.

Memberly Passes are live for producers who want their attendees to pay the price on the screen and nothing else.

Bring your next event to Memberly and let your attendees pay exactly what you charge them.
